I am just getting around to posting more pictures and more information about Will's arrival. On New Year's afternoon, as we were putting Christmas decorations up, I started having contractions. I didn't really know that's what it was at the time. I decided after awhile, that maybe I should start timing these pains in case they started getting consistent and developing a pattern. As time went on, the pain got worse and they were closer together. John and I were not prepared b/c that weekend, we were going to wash his clothes and pack bags, etc... It is now about 8:00 and John started packing our bags. We called Suzanne to come spend the night with Emily in case we went in the middle of the night. At about 9:30 or so, we decided to go to the hospital. I was 5-6cm dilated when we arrived at the hospital, so they decided to keep me. It seemed like forever to get the epidural, but after I received that, I felt MUCH better!! We were admitted at 10:30pm and he was born at 1:54am. Besides the VERY painful contractions, everything went very well with no problems or complications. For those of you that care, his apgar scores were 9, 10. I had been to the doctor on Wed and gotten my Strep B test. Well, it was too quick for the results to come back, so they put drew blood from Will as a precaution and his White Blood Cell count was high. He had to have IV antibiotics and everything turned out fine. We were discharged on Sun and adjusting to life with 2. Emily is slowly adjusting but still doesn't quite understand why I have to feed him and not hold her when she wants me too. John took off 2 weeks and will go back to work next week. Please pray for our transition and especially for Emily for when he returns to work. Here are a few pictures of the occasion.
